The same is true for smiling. By displaying a behavior you’ve learned to associate with happiness, you may actually become happy when you force yourself to smile.

HealthA healthy heart is certainly something to smile about. You can keep your ticker in optimal condition by smiling often. People who are happy have less stress than those who are unhappy, and stress is a major factor in heart conditions. Those who have an optimistic, sunny outlook on life are less likely to develop hypertension than those who are pessimistic.
